Harness the restorative powers of the After Cesarean Scar Ointment.

#1 C-Section Tip: MASSAGE!

C-section, the only major abdominal surgery where the rest and recovery period after is slightly brushed over. It’s safe, but it’s actually major abdominal surgery.

During the surgery your fascia, which surrounds your muscles all over your body, gets cut. This once smooth, flowing line of fibrous tissue – necessary for smooth movements – is now disrupted.

To mend the broken skin, the body forms tissue that has a different texture, less elasticity and that can manifest in many ways. This is called scar tissue.

Scar tissue grows how it decides to grow, and doesn’t know the difference between skin and organs. That’s why adhesions could be formed: it’s a natural occurrence that can develop months or even years postpartum.

Massaging the surgical area helps to prevent adhesions underneath the skin to form during your scar’s healing process. It keeps the recently stitched layers supple and mobile.

When can I start using a scar ointment?

As soon as your wound has fully closed, you can start using our After Cesarean Scar Ointment.

I had a c-section. When can I apply your natural scar oil?

After every c-section birth, we suggest a gentle massage as soon as you had your 6-week check-up, or sooner in case the scar is considered well healed.

Start slow & soft. The feeling could be quite uncomfortable in the beginning, as the surgical area can feel numb. It’s a matter of getting used to the sensation. Especially if it still feels numb, you might have to get used to the sensation.

The first few times of massaging we therefore suggest to start around the scar itself, touching only all around the scar to get used to the sensation again. You can include the actual. scar as soon as you feel comfortable.

Did you know scars take up to 1 year to fully mature?

Scars go through several stages of healing. After an injury, it could take a long time before the actual scar tissue forms. This is why it sometimes takes 4-6 weeks until you’ll see your scar become larger, thicker and raised. It also explains why some people go through without scar pain for a while, until experiencing pain or discomfort around their scar later on.

It takes around 3 months for the scar to become smaller and blend in more with the person’s skin tone. Signs that a scar is mature include the tissue becoming a lighter color, less sensitive, and smoother in texture.

C-section scars can cause many unnoticed issues later in life

As your body attempts to repair itself, adhesions are a normal occurrence. Your skins repair cells cannot tell the difference between one organ and another.

Because of the lack of elasticity, movement can become limited. Also, because the skin repairs itself in any possible way, you can get adhesions

5 Minutes A Day – Keeps The Doctor Away!

By massaging your c-section scar for just 5 minutes a day, you could save yourself from many health complications later on in life. Scar tissue grows where it wants to grow, so it’s important to keep those skin layers supple and soft. You can prevent C-section scar complications stretching from “just” tenderness and discomfort every now and then, to chronic pain or even fertility issues. Massage, mommies!

Scar Ointment Ingredient Benefits

Avocado Oil
Besides slicing and dicing them onto our toast, avocado turns into the best oil you could think of. Ancient Native Mesoamericans considered the avocado to be sacred. It’s consumable like olive oil, but for us it’s the perfect base to make our After Cesarean Scar Ointment.

Why?
Full of fatty acids & nutrients that benefit your skin membrane

Anti-oxidant Abundance
Free radicals are the particles that’ll damage your skin overtime. The anti-oxidant delivers an electron to the free radical, neutralizing them, preventing them from causing harm. Isn’t that a phenomenal occurance?

Lots of vitamin A&E
Which works anti-aging, and to retain water in the skin. Perfect to keep that scar supple and moisturised.

Wound healing Improvement
Did you know that avocado oil can promote increased collagen synthesis and decreased numbers of inflammatory cells during the wound-healing process?

Improving Scars
Avocado oil has so-called lysyl oxidase inhibitory activity, preventing the formation of excess collagen in scar tissue. Avocado oil application initiates skin restructuring, ensuring that the tough scar tissue formed on an injury is softened and blends with the complexion.

Pure Vitamin E Oil
Our pure vitamin E oil acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. Anecdotally, it’s been used for generations to treat scars and wounds.

Arnica
Arnica is used topically for a wide range of conditions, including bruises, wound healing and even swelling from broken bones. More recent studies suggest it may also be helpful in the treatment of burns.

St. Johns Wort
Antibacterial, antioxidant, antiviral & anti-inflammatory properties. The last one especially will therefore be beneficial to wound (and burn)healing.

Curcumin (Turmeric)
Curcumin can be find within turmeric. This particle will decrease inflammation and oxidation. It also lowers the response of your body to cutaneous wounds, which means a faster recovery for the body.

Bergamot
This antibacterial natural cleanser contains a natural cicatrizant. This promotes the healing of a wound or scar.

Cypres
Cypress is known for strengthening the structure of the skin. Plus, being an astringent, and containing anti-microbial properties, Cypress brings antibacterial support to the skin.

Scar Ointment Directions:
Apply max. 2 – 3 times a day while thoroughly massaging the area around the (cesarean) scar for visible renewal. Never use on open wounds. Works day and night to help skin maximise its overall natural rhythm of repair & protection
